Everyone loves a sale. So do we. During February, the prices of all of our Signal 8 Press titles (apart from the two free teaser e-books, Hellbent by Paul Blaney and Chronicle of an Egg by Peter Tieryas Liu) will be marked down to US$1.99 on Amazon, Omnilit, and Barnes & Noble. Please note that this applies to the e-books, not the paperbacks!
As the poster image above points out, Kindle users outside of the established Kindle Store countries and territories are charged an extra US$2.00 per book. If you'd like to avoid that charge, our books are available via Omnilit in Kindle, ePub, and PDF… and at this price point, Omnilit actually pays better royalties than Amazon does, hint hint.
We are also using this sale as a very quiet pre-launch for The Gunners of Shenyang by Yu Jihui. The book will not be formally released until May, but we're hoping readers will take a chance on it in the months leading up to the pub date. It's a remarkable story and one that deserves to be read.
A couple of other things:
1. We've launched the new, consolidated Typhoon Media Ltd website, www.typhoon-media.com, which brings all of our imprints together in a single, more coherent way. They're now tabs on one site instead of separate websites. Each still has its own identity, but now they all serve the greater purpose of unifying our identity as TMLtd rather than all these separate things. Perhaps people will also begin omitting the space in BookCyclone, too, although that might be too much to hope for.
2. This news blog will be moving to the new site (which is powered by WordPress) as well, and will no longer be updated after that.
3. Submissions for our two new imprints Scarlet Storm Press and Lightning Originals are now open. Please have a look at the submissions page on the new site and check out the specifications. If you've got something you think would be a good fit, please keep us in mind!
4. In the next few months, look for our e-books on Smashwords, Kobo, Diesel, Sony, and several new places. Now that Smashwords allows authors and publishers to upload ePubs for sales and distribution, we can resume that relationship and expand the number of places where our books are sold. This is exciting stuff!
